Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 review

Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 is a running shoe for heavier runners wanting a good amount of pronation control and impact protection. Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS is ideal if you are looking for a roomy running shoe that also gives you a cushioned and comfortable ride.

Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 is a sneaker for runners who need plenty of extra support and impact protection after heel-strike.

This Saucony running shoe model has always been well-suited for bigger and heavier runners who overpronate.

Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 was released in Spring 2011 and is the successor of Saucony Progrid Stabil CS, which was released two years prior.

The medial post in the midsole of the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 has not changed compared to the previous version of the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS. So it is still there to control the degree of overpronation and prevent the ankle from rolling too far inwards.

One thing that has changed however is the structure of the outsole in the forefoot area. This outsole area is much firmer in the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 than it was previously in the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS, so you may have to break it in a little bit before it feels comfortable and flexible on your feet. Another update to the outsole is the addition of a softer blown rubber compound in the forefoot to provide a smoother toe-off.

The uppers of the ProGrid Stabil CS 2 consist of mesh and an Arch-Lock synthethic overlay around the midfoot for a secure fit and wrapping. The upper also features a big bunion window in the forefoot and provides plenty of room if you have to wear orthotics.

The women’s version of the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 weighs approximately 11.6 oz (329 grams), which is 0.1 oz (3 grams) lighter than the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS when you compare motion control running shoes by weight.

This weight reduction comes primarily from the lighter EVA midsole and a new lightweight mesh upper used on the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2. In addition, the insides of the Saucony will keep your feet fresh and dry because the lining consists of material that wicks away moisture.

The suggested running shoe price of the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 is US $120, which is US $5 more expensive than the previous Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS when you compare motion control running shoes by price.
