The Brooks Ghost 11 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com and the Brooks Launch 6 were created with different goals in mind, so while they are both for neutral runners, they differ somewhat in how they have been constructed and in what they offer to runners.

For starters, the upper of the Brooks Launch 6 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com is more lightweight than that of the Brooks Ghost 11, because it uses mostly mesh and an internal bootie to keep your foot on the running platform.

The internal bootie of the Brooks Launch 6 should also give you a closer-to-foot fit than what you would get from the Brooks Ghost 11.

Both the Brooks Ghost 11 and the Brooks Launch 6 have a forefoot that is quite wide open and free from overlays, so you should be able to get a good amount of comfort from their toe boxes, and if you have wide feet, they should be able to get enough room.

The structure of the mesh of the Brooks Ghost 11 is more closed starting from the second half of the running shoe going towards the back, where there is a sturdier piece of material that wraps around the heel and should be able to give you a good amount of support and a more locked-down fit at the back.

The Brooks Launch 6, on the other hand, offers a standard amount of support around the heel.

The conclusion is that you should be able to get a bit more support from the upper of the Brooks Ghost 11 compared to that of the Brooks Launch 6, but the Brooks Launch 6 might give you an overall closer-to-foot fit than the Brooks Ghost 11.

The Brooks Launch 6 and the Brooks Ghost 11 also differ in their midsoles.

While both running shoes make use of a type of midsole material that is meant to deliver a good amount of cushioning but not too much to hold you back, the Brooks Ghost 11 also implements a second type of midsole material under the heel that delivers softer cushioning for softer landings.

This softer midsole material forms a crash pad under the heel of the Brooks Ghost 11 that is separate from the main, more responsive midsole material but that connects well to it at the midfoot.

The Brooks Launch 6 does not come with a separate crash pad under the heel, but this has been more integrated into the main midsole material.

Because of the softer heel of the Brooks Ghost 11, the Brooks Ghost 11 is expected to deliver a bit more heel cushioning than the Brooks Launch 6, even though men get a very soft heel and women a more moderately cushioned heel from the Brooks Ghost 11.

ADVERTISEMENTS

The Brooks Launch 6 has been updated to have more foam in the forefoot, which should also increase the amount of forefoot cushioning delivered by the Brooks Launch 6, because in previous versions of the running shoe, the amount of forefoot cushioning used to be below average.

The Brooks Ghost 11 has been found to have a cushy forefoot for men, but women get a more moderate amount of forefoot cushioning from the Brooks Ghost 11.

Both the Brooks Launch 6 and the Brooks Ghost 11 provide a good amount of ground contact, which adds some stability to the running shoes but also helps you to achieve smoother heel-to-toe transitions.

However, the separate crash pad under the heel of the Brooks Ghost 11 can be seen as a stability feature, and because the Brooks Ghost 11 has a somewhat more supportive upper than the Brooks Launch 6, the Brooks Ghost 11 would be the one to deliver a bit more stability and support than the Brooks Launch 6, despite being a neutral running shoe.

The amount of stability and support delivered by the Brooks Ghost 11 would not be enough for overpronators, though.

Note that the Brooks Ghost 11 has a slightly higher heel-to-toe drop than the Brooks Launch 6. The difference is 2 mm, according to manufacturer's data.

The rubber outsoles of the Brooks Launch 6 and the Brooks Ghost 11 have been set up in a slightly different way to achieve different goals.

The outsole of the Brooks Ghost 11 displays lots of separation and segmentation, which is a good sign that the Brooks Ghost 11 is meant to disperse and absorb shock well to give you a much smoother ride.

The outsole of the Brooks Launch 6 has a transition zone under the midfoot to help you achieve faster heel-to-toe transitions.

While both running shoes have deep flex grooves in the forefoot that run from side to side or almost from side to side, they might still feel stiff due to the good amount of forefoot cushioning they deliver.

The Brooks Launch 6 is lighter than the Brooks Ghost 11 for both men and women.

If you are a neutral runner who is looking for a running shoe that can keep you comfortable on the road, you could choose either the Brooks Launch 6 or the Brooks Ghost 11.

The Brooks Launch 6 was created with speed in mind, so it has been kept light and set up in a way to help you run faster.

The Brooks Ghost 11 is more concerned with giving you an overall soft, stable, and smooth ride without compromising the responsiveness of the running shoe too much.

Note: The weight of a running shoe depends on the size of the running shoe, so any weights mentioned in this review may differ from the weight of the running shoe you choose to wear. Running shoes of the same size were compared for this review.
