The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17, on the other hand, comes with no-sew overlays that pull the saddle towards the midsole quite uniformly and therefore provides less free space to move in the forefoot.

Both running shoes come with a stitched-on toecap, so provide durable support at the front of the shoes, and the toecap of the Brooks Ravenna 8 is blunter at the sides than that of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17, so might feel a bit more comfortable to your toes.

All in all, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 provides a good amount of support that is centered around the midfoot, while the Brooks Ravenna 8 has its support more towards the back of the shoe.

Both the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 and the Brooks Ravenna 8 should provide good heel-to-toe transitions because they both provide a good amount of ground contact.

The outsoles differ in that the Brooks Ravenna 8 provides full ground contact right under the midfoot by having its rubber in an X form.

Another difference is that the outsole of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 has many more smaller rubber pods than that of the Brooks Ravenna 8.

According to running shoe lab tests, the flexibility of both running shoes come close to each other. For men, both are on the stiff side with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 being a bit more flexible, while for women, the Brooks Ravenna 8 displays a bit more flexibility with both being on the average side.

The women's version of the Brooks Ravenna 8 weighs approximately 9.0 oz (255 grams), while the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 for women weighs approximately 8.9 oz (252 grams).

The men's version of the Brooks Ravenna 8 weighs about 10.8 oz (306 grams), and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 for men weighs 10.9 oz (309 grams).

If you are a moderate overpronator who is looking for a comfortable ride, you could look into the Brooks Ravenna 8. Heel-strikers may also prefer the Brooks Ravenna 8 above the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17.

However, if you know you will be needing a lot of stability and support, you may want to look into the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 before you look into the Brooks Ravenna 8.
