While the Brooks Ghost 10 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com has apparently more overlays around the midfoot and the heel, the Saucony Kinvara 9 comes with a woven area around the heel that also adds support to the running shoe.

The forefoot of the two running shoes is quite open and free from overlays, except for the Saucony logo at the side of the Saucony Kinvara 9 and an overlay that runs along the lateral side.

Therefore, you should be able to get a good amount of comfort from the toe box of both running shoes, but the Brooks Ghost 10 might feel more comfortable than the Saucony Kinvara 9, because its toe box is completely free from overlays, except for a stitched-on toecap at the front.

All in all, one could say that you can expect to get a similar amount of support from the upper of the Saucony Kinvara 9 and that of the Brooks Ghost 10, and that both running shoes should feel pretty comfortable on your feet.

Where the two running shoes also display similarities is in their midsoles that provide a good amount of ground contact.

According to running shoe lab tests, the Brooks Ghost 10 is much more stable than the Saucony Kinvara 9, although both deliver an above average amount of stability.

In terms of cushioning, both running shoes deliver an above average amount, but the Brooks Ghost 10 has a cushier heel than the Saucony Kinvara 9, especially for men.

However, the Saucony Kinvara 9 has a cushier forefoot than the Brooks Ghost 10 for both men and women, and they both deliver an above average amount of forefoot cushioning.

The conclusion is that you should be able to get a soft ride from both running shoes and that the Brooks Ghost 10 might be better for heel-strikers and might feel a bit more responsive than the Saucony Kinvara 9 due to its more moderate amount of forefoot cushioning.

The Saucony Kinvara 9 is meant to bring you closer to the ground and to a neutral plane and has been kept light in many ways to help you go faster, but both the Brooks Ghost 10 and the Saucony Kinvara 9 can be seen as performance running shoes in their own way.

The outsoles of the two running shoes differ quite a bit in the way they look and in construction.

The Saucony Kinvara 9 has rubber only in high-wear areas, while the Brooks Ghost 10 has rubber in its entire outsole.

Both running shoes have a good amount of flex grooves in their outsoles, but the Brooks Ghost 10 displays more separation than the Saucony Kinvara 9.

The Brooks Ghost 10 is flexible for women but somewhat stiff for men, and the Saucony Kinvara 9 is stiff for both men and women, and much stiffer than the Brooks Ghost 10.

The women's version of the Saucony Kinvara 9 weighs approximately 6.5 oz (184 grams), and the Brooks Ghost 10 for women weighs 8.5 oz (241 grams).

The men's versions of the shoes weigh 8.0 oz (227 grams) and 10 oz (284 grams), respectively, with the Saucony Kinvara 9 being the lighter one.

Both running shoes are good for performance runs, but the Saucony Kinvara 9 is lighter and might help you go faster than the Brooks Ghost 10, especially during a race.

The Brooks Ghost 10 is good for smoother and longer runs, and heel-strikers might benefit from its cushy heel.
