The Saucony Guide 8 and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 are stability running shoes that are geared toward runners who need some stability and support, but not excessively to the degree of a motion control running shoe.

The uppers of the Saucony Guide 8 and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 differ considerably in that the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com consists almost entirely of no-sew overlays.

It does not have any stitched-on overlays like the Saucony Guide 8 does. It only has some stitches at the back and front of the shoe.

The no-sew overlays on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 wrap the midfoot well and also the forefoot but not to the extent of the stitched-on overlays on the Saucony Guide 8.

The Saucony Guide 8 has stitched-on overlays on both the lateral and medial sides of the shoe but more so on the medial side than on the lateral side, since the medial side is where overpronators need support the most.

However, the Saucony Guide 8 also has no-sew overlays in its upper, mainly in the forefoot to keep things light and comfortable in the toe box.

The bunion window is also more open and free on the Saucony Guide 8 than it is on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16, so the Saucony Guide 8 may feel more comfortable in that area.

All in all, the Saucony Guide 8 can be seen as the one who delivers a bit more support than the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 in the upper.

Both the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 and the Saucony Guide 8 offer heel-to-toe cushioning through their midsoles and come with a crash pad under the heel to soften your landings.

However, while the crash pad of the Saucony Guide 8 runs till the midfoot, the crash pad of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 runs all the way to the front of the shoe and is well segmented.

This allows the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 to provide you with a smooth transition from heel-strike to toe-off but also adds more stability to your runs.

However, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS is known to provide cushioning that is not too soft or too firm, and running shoe lab tests confirm this.

The Saucony Guide 8 turns out to be a very cushy running shoe when it is compared to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 for both genders.

While the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 has a pretty balanced cushioning profile for women, its heel might feel a bit firm to men. The Saucony Guide 8 does not have a very cushy heel for men, but at least the amount of cushioning is above average.

The big similarity between the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 and the Saucony Guide 8 is the fact that both provide pronation control through a medial post.

This medial post is quite long and reinforced by a midfoot shank in both running shoes. However, it is much longer in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 than it is in the Saucony Guide 8.

In addition, the medial post in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 is topped by foam with different densities at the back, so produces a more gradual effect.

All in all, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 is considered to be the more stable and supportive running shoe of the two.

The rubber outsoles of the two running shoes look quite different with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 displaying a bit more segmentation and separation overall, but especially under the heel and lateral side of the shoe.

Both the Saucony Guide 8 and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 provide a good amount of ground contact, which adds to the stability of the running shoes.

Running shoe lab tests show that both the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 and the Saucony Guide 8 are somewhat stiff running shoes. For men, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 is more flexible than the Saucony Guide 8, and for women, the Saucony Guide 8 is more flexible than the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16.

The women's version of the Saucony Guide 8 weighs approximately 8.4 oz (238 grams), while the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 for women weighs approximately 9.5 oz (269 grams).

The men's version of the Saucony Guide 8 weighs about 10.1 oz (286 grams), and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 for men weighs 11.3 oz (320 grams).

If you are an overpronator who is looking for a running shoe that can provide tons of stability and support, you could choose either the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 or the Saucony Guide 8.

However, for a more stable run, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16 might be better than the Saucony Guide 8. And for a softer ride with a more secure fit, the Saucony Guide 8 might be better than the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16.
