The uppers of the Brooks Ghost 11 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com and the New Balance 890v6 are similar in that they use mostly mesh to keep your foot on the running platform.

Both the New Balance 890v6 The preceding link takes you to Amazon.com and the Brooks Ghost 11 are quite open in the forefoot and do not have overlays running on the toe box, so you should be able to get a good amount of comfort from the toe box of both running shoes.

The structure of the mesh of the Brooks Ghost 11 changes from open to more closed around the midfoot and the heel to increase the amount of lightweight support you get in those areas.

The New Balance 890v6 is different in that its mesh does not change much around the midfoot. However, it comes with a bootie that hugs your arch to deliver a snug fit around the midfoot.

The mesh of both running shoes is quite closed around the heel, but whereas the New Balance 890v6 offers a standard amount of support around the heel, the Brooks Ghost 11 uses somewhat sturdier material and a piece that hooks around the upper part of the heel to deliver a better heel fit.

All in all, you should be able to get a good amount of comfort from the upper of either running shoe, but the New Balance 890v6 is likely to offer an overall somewhat tighter fit than the Brooks Ghost 11.

Both the New Balance 890v6 and the Brooks Ghost 11 area meant to deliver enough cushioning to runners to keep them comfortable on the road while still remaining responsive. However, their midsoles have a different construction.

While the midsole of the New Balance 890v6 consists of one main layer of foam, the Brooks Ghost 11 has one main layer of foam with a crash pad of softer foam under the heel.

The heel of the Brooks Ghost 11 sits much higher off the ground than that of the New Balance 890v6, and because there is mostly softer foam under the heel of the Brooks Ghost 11, it is not surprising that it delivers much more heel cushioning than the New Balance 890v6.

Men get a very cushy heel from the Brooks Ghost 11, while the heel of the New Balance 890v6 has been found by lab tests to be firm for men.

Women get a more moderate amount of heel cushioning from the Brooks Ghost 11, but lab tests have indicated that the New Balance 890v6 has a very firm heel for women.

The Brooks Ghost 11 and the New Balance 890v6 have almost a similar midsole thickness in the forefoot and the amount of forefoot cushioning is moderate in both running shoes, except for men who get a cushy forefoot from the Brooks Ghost 11.

The conclusion is that the Brooks Ghost 11 would deliver an overall cushier ride than the New Balance 890v6 to both men and women, and that the Brooks Ghost 11 would be better for male and female heel-strikers compared to the New Balance 890v6.

In addition, the Brooks Ghost 11 has a much higher heel-to-toe drop than the New Balance 890v6, which should make the Brooks Ghost 11 feel more like a performance running shoe. Here is probably also where the responsive feel goal of the Brooks Ghost 11 would come into play.

However, the New Balance 890v6 is also meant to make you feel fast, and it does so by implementing TPU strips in the forefoot. These strips, together with the lack of plentiful flex grooves in the forefoot do however increase the stiffness of the New Balance 890v6, which has been found to be very stiff for both men and women.

Comparatively, the Brooks Ghost 11 has a few flex grooves in the forefoot that run from side-to-side, but nonetheless, it has also been found to be stiff for both men and women, but not stiffer than the New Balance 890v6.

Both the New Balance 890v6 and the Brooks Ghost 11 provide a good amount of ground contact, which should help you achieve smoother heel-to-transitions and increase the stability of the running shoes a bit.

However, due to the layout and structure of the outsole of the Brooks Ghost 11, which tends to display more segmentation and separation in general compared to the New Balance 890v6, the Brooks Ghost 11 has been set up in a better way to disperse and absorb shock to help smoothen your ride even more.

The New Balance 890v6 is lighter than the Brooks Ghost 11 for both men and women.

If you are a neutral runner who is looking for a smooth ride, you could turn to either the Brooks Ghost 11 or the New Balance 890v6.

The New Balance 890v6 has been kept light and has features to help you run fast, so it is a good running shoe for shorter but faster runs. The amount of cushioning it delivers should keep you comfortable on the road, but it would probably not be enough for heel-strikers.

The Brooks Ghost 11 has been set up in a way to give you an overall soft and smooth ride, and it delivers enough cushioning for longer runs. While the Brooks Ghost 11 is meant to feel responsive, the New Balance 890v6 might feel more responsive than the Brooks Ghost 11.
