Brooks Ariel running shoes
The Brooks Ariel is a true winner among motion control running shoes when it comes to providing good support, stability, and comfort to runners with flat feet. Brooks Ariel and Beast are considered to be two of the best motion control running shoes on the market to date.
Brooks Ariel is a running shoe that was built specifically for women with flat feet. The male counterpart of the Brooks Ariel is the Brooks Beast.
The 2010 version of the Brooks Ariel was launched in October 2010, and replaces the previous version of the Brooks Ariel. The Brooks Ariel is one of two Brooks motion control running shoes. The other one is the Brooks Addiction 9.
Not much has changed on the Brooks Ariel since its last version.
For starters, the overall look is the same. And it still has a Progressive Diagonal Rollbar on the medial side of the running shoe to allow for progressive pronation control to create smoother transitions from mid stance to toe off.
The upper of the Brooks Ariel consists of breathable mesh which is weather-resistant and moisture-managing. Synthetic overlays have been added for extra support. These overlays provide reflectivity so that you remain visible in low light situations.
What has changed from the previous Brooks Ariel is the composition of the midsole. The midsole of the Brooks Ariel '10 consists of BioMoGo along the full length of the midsole. This material is not only fully biodegradable, but also provides you with cushioning from heel strike to toe off.
In addition to the BioMoGo, there is full-length DNA gel cushioning along the entire midsole for impact absorption, comfort, and protection as your pace changes.
And last but not least, a removable footbed provides an additional amount of cushioning within the running shoe itself, and is moisture-managing, so will wick away moisture and keep your feet dry.
The outsole of the Brooks Ariel is abrasion-resistant and the forefoot area very flexible. The Brooks Ariel is built on a wide linear platform to provide you with the ultimate in stability.
The Brooks Ariel weighs approximately 12.3 oz (349 grams), which is relatively heavy when you compare motion control running shoes by weight and the retail motion control running shoe price of the Brooks Ariel is US $130.
Running shoes similar to the Brooks Ariel include the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS, the New Balance 1012, and the Nike Zoom Equalon+ 4, all of which are designed for the heavier runner and provide good cushioning and flexibility.
