The differences between the amount of forefoot cushioning are smaller, but the ASICS GT-2000 4 still offers more forefoot cushioning than the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17.

Where the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 wins is in the stability department.

Running shoe lab tests indicate that the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 offers almost a maximum amount of stability, while the ASICS GT-2000 4 offers an above average amount but remains a notch below the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17.

The large amount of stability in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 is due to the long medial post that helps control overpronation, the full-length crash pad on the lateral side of the midsole that stabilizes and smoothens your ride, and the large amount of ground contact.

Both running shoes come with a midfoot shank, but the midfoot shank of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 is small, takes up less room, and does not prevent the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 from providing a good amount of ground contact under the midfoot.

The midfoot shank of the ASICS GT-2000 4 adds to the amount of stabilitiy it provides and so does the support system it has in place on the medial side of the midsole.

But the ASICS GT-2000 4 does not provide full ground contact, neither does it have a crash pad that runs along the entire length of its midsole.

Instead, it comes with GEL cushioning in the heel and the forefoot, but these are not contiguous like the crash pad in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17.

Another big difference is the amount of separation in the outsoles of the two running shoes.

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 comes with much smaller rubber pods than the ASICS GT-2000 4. This helps with shock absorption and smoothening your ride even more.

And according to running shoe lab tests, it also helps with flexibility because the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 turns out to be more flexible than the ASICS GT-2000 4 for both men and women.

The women's version of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 weighs approximately 8.9 oz (252 grams), while the ASICS GT-2000 4 for women weighs approximately 9.2 oz (261 grams).

The men's version of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 weighs about 10.9 oz (309 grams), and the ASICS GT-2000 4 for men weighs 11.3 oz (320 grams).

If you are a moderate overpronator who is looking for a soft and comfortable ride with a secure fit, the ASICS GT-2000 4 might serve you better than the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17.

However, it you know that you will need a lot of stability and support, you may want to look into the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 instead of the ASICS GT-2000 4. It is also a bit lighter than the ASICS GT-2000 4.
