ASICS GEL Foundation 9 review
The ASICS Gel Foundation 9 builds upon the features of the ASICS Gel Foundation 8 with an updated look. It is a maximum support running shoe for overpronators who not only require a secure fit, but also enough cushioning and support during those long runs.
The ASICS Gel Foundation 9 is a running shoe that was made by ASICS and that was built for the moderate to severe overpronator who requires maximum support from their running shoes.
The ASICS Gel Foundation 9 is one of two ASICS motion control running shoes. The other trainer is the ASICS Gel Evolution 6.
The ASICS Gel Foundation 9 – just like the ASICS Gel Foundation 8 – provides GEL cushioning both in the forefoot and rearfoot, which absorbs shock at heel-strike and toe-off.
The uppers of the ASICS Gel Foundation 9 consist of mesh for breathability, synthetic overlays for a more secure fit, and reflective material to be spotted in low-light conditions. What also helps keep your feet dry is the ComforDry Sockliner within the running shoe.
The midsole of the ASICS Gel Foundation 9 is made of two densities of EVA, which help correct the degree and velocity of pronation; your feet are prevented from rolling inward. It provides a stable platform to run on in addition to a support system to help with pronation control.
The outsole of the ASICS Gel Foundation 9 is made of durable rubber in the heel and a mixture of durable rubber and a type of rubber that provides extra cushioning in the forefoot.
The ASICS Gel Foundation 9 weighs approximately 303 grams (10.7 oz), which makes it the same weight as the ASICS Gel Foundation 8 when you compare motion control running shoes by weight.
The suggested retail price of the ASICS Gel Foundation 9 is US $100, which is $10 more expensive than its predecessor, the ASICS Gel Foundation 8, when you compare motion control running shoes by price.
